Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Academy Scotland

Empowering health and social care professionals, enhancing care, improving outcomes.
Nurses play a pivotal role in MS care, from diagnosis to long-term management. Our Academy offers a structured educational programme designed to enhance understanding of MS, improve clinical decision-making, and foster patient-centered approaches. By engaging with expert-led content and interactive learning opportunities, clinicians can develop the confidence and competence needed to deliver exceptional MS care.
Understanding MS from a clinical perspective is crucial, but recognising the lived experiences of those affected is equally important. Our Academy integrates the voices of individuals with MS, their caregivers, and the voluntary sector into our training. This ensures that nurses gain insight into the real-world impact of MS, helping them to provide empathetic and holistic care that meets the diverse needs of their patients.
The MS Nurse Academy Scotland provides a highly adaptable learning model tailored to the needs of nursing professionals. Through interactive MasterClasses, collaborative learning experiences, and access to a wider learning experience, nurses can access education that fits their schedules and learning preferences. Our approach ensures that learning is practical, relevant, and immediately applicable to clinical practice.

Empowering health and social care professionals, enhancing care, improving outcomes.
While educational resources exist, there has been a specific gap in dedicated nurse and allied healthcare education in Scotland. The MS Nurse Academy Scotland aims to fill this need by providing comprehensive, accessible, and high-standard training specifically for all clinicians caring for people with MS.
‘As a practitioner, it's really good to keep learning, to keep growing, to keep doing things that are outside our comfort zone. Many nurses tell me the MS nurse meeting is the one day they put in their calendar every year’
Mhairi Coutts, lead faculty and founder, MS Nurse Academy Scotland
Our content is developed by expert clinicians working in MS, it is available to healthcare professionals across Scotland.
