Who is this course for?

This course is designed for consultants, experienced Parkinson’s nurses, final year registrars, final year old age psychiatry registrars, GPwERs, experienced neurosciences pharmacists, associate specialists, staff grade physicians, old age psychiatrists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

What will the course involve?

The course will advance understanding of Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. If extra support is required by an individual, an experienced Parkinson’s clinician will be allocated to support and answer any questions.

How is the course taught?

The course is taught through a range of learner-centered methods including formal lectures, interactive workshops, and projects. Learners must complete a workplace project/audit during the six month break, before returning to Module 2 to present their findings.

Intermodule project

Taking practical education to a fundamental level, every two-module MasterClass includes an intermodule project as a mandatory part of the course. An opportunity to test new knowledge and skills and to improve local services, delegates are offered mentorship and encouraged to support their peers as they continue to develop their specialism in a way that directly impacts their patient's outcomes.

Attendees have free reign over this project. It might be service delivery, patient management or drug treatments, and it could take the form of a service description, an audit, or another form of research. It should meet a local need. → View previous projects
